As was mentioned, we have lots of new members, perhaps some have never posted. If that's you, how about a quick post to let us know you are sitting in the bleachers.:) Just a "Hi I'm xxxx, and I own/love a Studebaker."

Reason I asked, is a Strato Blue '64 hardtop that I admired in my hometown the whole time I was growing up, was sold in the April '90 TW to a fellow from Wisconsin. It was a one-owner car that had all new-car paperwork and local Stude dealer service receipts, even the large ad in the local paper from '66 written by the local dealer assuring folks of continued parts and service, included.

Guess I'm a lurker since I've only posted a couple of times here.
Not currently a Studebaker owner however. However I once owned a 62 GT Hawk. Hope to someday join the ranks again.
Enjoy reading the forum. The information shared is always educational.
That's what I tell my wife anyway when she ask what I'm reading.

Hi, My name's Steven and I'am a Lurker.

<HI STEVE!>

anways.. I'm about to start working on my great grandfather's 47 M5. It will end up more resto-rod than anything. IFS, LS7, 4wheeldisc, mostly stock interior except for gauges and AC. No radio. etc..

We still have the original bill of sale (October 13th, 1947 for $1300 and some change) and the first tag (1947). It has been sitting in the corner of a barn on my grandfather's land since the 70's. Still has the original motor in it, etc. Might have a few questions for ya'll in the coming years as I feel I will be on this site more and more.

Like the previous poster said, its all educational stuff...

I would say that as a registered member I'm not a lurker, but rather a passive observer until I become more familiar with Studebaker and this website.

It's a nice, clean, well lighted and friendly place with lots of good folks, very enjoyable. Food's good too. Main problem for me is covetous greed when I see some of these Studes, yipes, really nice!

I'll have more to say once I get the new/old Stude home and start poking around and driving it! Thanks all for the great info and help so far!!

Yes, I suppose I'm a "lurker". Very enjoyable forum to read. No, I do not own a Studebaker, but find them very interesting. Would like to own one as finances allow. I do own two old cars: a 1974 MGB & a 1973 BMW 3.0s.

My friend's father had a 1952 Champion convertible that was sold just a few years ago after his passing.

Hi-posted a couple of times.I've been a member most of the time since 1973.Dad bought a new 60 Lark wagon and loved it.When I was about 10 or 11 we decided to get a project car and somehow hooked up with Bill Condon who sold us a 62 Daytona convertible[48000 miles].The body was shot and we found a southern body-bad motor-and combined the two.Now I'm working on re-restoring it.We had a lot of other Studes along the way.Love reading the forum.

Yeah, I'm a lurker. And I know a few others too! I read through all the posts several times a week, but I'm not driven to participate in the "conversation". I do capture useful information and save it though!

Own a '63/'64 Avanti, round headlights, #4883. Repainted Avanti gold, most chrome redone, all that's left (ha ha) is to clean the engine, paint it, reinstall it, and off we go. Of course, there will be 100 pitfalls before that happens.

Beside it sits a "51 Starlite Coupe, solid body for the most part, fenders repaired, firewall and inner fender panels painted. When the Avanti is done, my attention will be turned back to it. It sat in a shed for years on a Washington farm, so the trunk rusted but all else is totally solid. (Anyone have a totally solid body from the rear body seam back?) Took an upholstery class in the local Community College and make up a totally new interior.

I've stopped setting deadlines to be done. Never hold up. These are ongoing projects.

I'm 61, grew up in the 50's in 2 Studies, because that's the dealer that called my dad, back in the postwar time of scarce new cars. So now the psychology is laid down.

I'm 48 came home frome the hospital in a 56 Golden Hawk. My father owned many Studes and my first one (at the tender age of thirteen) was a 54 Champion HT. I found a 62 Police Marshal 289 Lark two weeks later. Two weeks after that I had a 289 54 Commander! Not bad for a first time engine swap. Sold the 54 and acquired a 63 GT Hawk. Sold that and got a 56 Golden Hawk (ceramic green and snowcap white. Sold that and got a 58 Packard Hawk from New Mexico. Parked the 58 every winter and got a Lark or two to drive everyday. Ended up getting roughly 3 more Golden Hawks a 62 GT and a 53 early tri-star Commander ht. 5 sliding roof Wagonairs 4 Daytonas and am now down to just one 63 Avanti. I will ALWAYS have a Studebaker! I have probably logged over one million miles in Studebakers. They have personality and do not blend in with the masses. Kind of like me, loud, outspoken and proud of my individuality!

I have been a lurker for quite a while, although I did post a few questions on the technical site, and got some good info from the answers. I had a beautiful jet green 64 Daytona 4-door back in the late 60s, and have been sorry since then that I sold it! So, a few years ago, I bought a rough 65 Commander 4-door cheap, and have slowing been restoring it, as time and funds permit. By the time I retire in 2 1/2 years, I hope to have it complete and on the road. I've redone the front end with all new parts, replaced the complete braking system, and done bits and pieces on the body. The "Chev" 283 runs fine, but the AT has a serious drip problem. Still lots to do, including a complete interior. I appreciate all the input from the experts on both forums!
