If I had the money to buy it, I'd probably have the money to build a very large new shop and that would be the front door to the shop.

I'd say about $15-20 grand. But who knows[?] Packard folks aren't CASO A slightly different clientele, so just "Ask the man who owns one." I believe there has been an unsucessful movement to save this building for a while, so there may be more interest in this piece.

Sounds interesting. I can't get the picture to display though. However... isn't a hundred grand a bit much for something one still has to pay to have removed[?] P.T. Barnum was right.

This was posted on the AACA Packard forum a few weeks back, including a link to another forum where folks were talking about it. Apparently in the past year or more, the place has become nearly overrun with 'scrappers', and supposedly folks can even get inside the old offices there...kind of scary. Not to mention, one of the posters on that other forum showed some slightly-edited photos taken when he was in the building recently and heard noise from the roof above them, and saw what was apparently a gay porn film being made on the roof there with participants in Super Hero garb (I kid you not!).

I've seen the East Grand Boulevard property a couple times--once in the late '80's, and probably three or four years later. The second time we got into the plant complex by asking security there. Wasn't a whole lot to see inside the gates other than a scary looking guy in a parked car in there who kept staring at us. The outside of the building, and entrances to the office portion, was impressive and imposing (as the original post shows). The neighborhood was REALLY scary twenty years ago, and I doubt it's better now.

We Studebaker lovers are fortunate that the Studebaker Administration Building has survived, outside and especially inside, as beautifully as it has. It's from roughly the same era as this Packard facility.
