What can be used to replace the cardboard like stuff that is on the back side of the firewall. I want to replace mine but would like something that will look straight and flat, not wrinkled and bent like the original. Any ideas.
Just a bit of information, right against the interior side of the firewall behind the insulation and cardboard I found plain ole tar paper. It even has lines on it like we see today for nailing roofing on straight. In some areas it is stuck on pretty tight and I will most likely heat the other side of the firewall to get it to release.
