Go to the larger Stude meets with no less than 120+X $100 dollar bills so as to stirr up some feathers. Keep on keepin' on and add more money to your nest egg periodically. Sooner or later you will find your [bird] wagon. Advertise in Turning Wheels and Stude specific web sites. You will pay accordingly for a nice clean restored properly or unmolested car in #1 or 2 condition. Some one earlier mentioned taking 6 years to find a reasonably good one for less than 35,000. I must be out of touch a whole bunch or someone is settin you up with some stink bait. If you really must have a Conestoga then go for it. I myself prefer a Packard Hawk showmobile for less than 35G. A friend of mine bought a conestoga from California thru e-bay last year for less than 5 grand including delivery. Nice body but needed spiffing up. jimmijimsigpicAnything worth doing deserves your best shot. Do it right the first time. When you're done you will know it. { I'm just the guy who thinks he knows everything, my buddy is the guy who knows everything.} cheers jimmijim*****SDC***** member

Sorry jimi -
There just ain't many out there. If your buddy did actually come up with one...good for him.
I looked at four or five of them over the years. Wasn't interested in replacing half the car due to rust!
I also bought a 55 Conestoga...for $600.00...BUT it needs floors and a quarter panel!
Add that to the 600 bucks and see what comes up!
There's always...that barn find!

Thanks for the replies, so far. I have restored four cars over the last 7 years, and I would like to find one that is done. Barring that, I would like to find a good 1954 with all of its parts in tact or in boxes wiith the car. Having restore a bunch already, I would prefer not to spend a bunch of money trying to find parts, etc. I can wait until someone has a really good 1954 Commander Regal they don't want to keep anymore. However please keep the replies coming and thanks for all the info.

This fully-loaded Champion Conestoga was at the 1986 Pacific Can-Am Zone Meet. Last I heard, it's since been stripped of most of its options and customized.[V]

Pity that. I saw a picture of it last year and the owner was supposed to sell me the backup lights. He never got back to me, bugger it![V]
