  • Will door panels interchange?

I found a nice matched set of '64 Lark-type door and rear compartment side panels, but they're for a hardtop. Will these fit on my '63 2-door sedan?

The doors are basically the same, but the panels may not swap because of the widow frame/pillar. You can even modify the door from the sedan to fit the hardtop by removing the frame.

So the answer then is "no".

                Tom, they're black.

I know the door panels will fit, it's the quarters I'm concerned about. The hardtop has that "lip" at the top of the panel where it meets the window, and the sedan has the trim piece that covers the top of the panel. I suppose I could always hack off the lip, but I hate to destroy the pieces like that.

On the other hand, if it works...!

I'm looking for blue. The only thing left in my interior to pull out is the trim panels. I need to start hunting for new panels.

Tom, like Rene Harger told me, "Studebaker used really good vinyl, and it's really easy to die whatever color you want".

If you find a set of panels, just die them the color of your choice.

BTW, since I have a set of NOS two door sedan panels, how can I make them work on my hardtop? Can I transfer the 'lip' from the old hardtop panels, onto the new ones?
