  • CAD testing of '63 Studebaker disc brake bracket

I thought it would be fun to draw the factory bracket in CAD and then
make a 3D model to do testing on. The idea is to apply the same loads
we came up with to the factory bracket and see what it does. From what
I can tell it seems to be a forged steel part, it is .50 inches at the
thickest point, and all the holes are threaded. The YouTube video is a
spin of the factory part - kinda neat. Testing will happen when there
is a slow up at work. Just thought I would share.

Took some dimensions of the factory 1963 disc brake brackets from my Avanti to do some stress testing on Solidworks.

Thanks Jeff, did you check out the little video? AutoCAD allows you
to create camera views and export them. Thats my first attempt.
