Hey everyone,
I found out what my nonstarting problem was. Would you believe that those brand new breaker points that came with my rebuilt distributor were binding enough that they didn't close reliably? This is no criticism of Dave Thibeault. The points closed...eventually, but with the speed that they have to open and close with the rotation of the distributor, they just didn't have enough time to do it.
I'd like to say that I'm not back in business with a new set of points from our local NAPA and that the car is running, but having had my second carpal tunnel surgery this afternoon, it will be a few days before the wrappings come off and I can put the new points in.
Kindest regards,
