  • Correct ATF for 1953 Commander

Can someone please tell me what is the "correct" ATF to use in the automatic trans. on my '53 Commander? I've heard that DEXRON III is correct; I've also heard I can use the newer DEX/MERC.

    Thanks Howard

Thanks for the help Glen. Looks like either DEXRON III or DEX/MERC is OK. Howard

I've been using Type F in my '59 Lark, but I think my transmission if different from yours.
