VENDOR SPACE STILL AVAILABLE FOR 44TH INTERNATIONAL MEET

Are you a Studebaker vendor, or do you have a garage full of Studebaker parts, memorabilia or other material gathering dust at home that you’d like to sell? Would you like to vend at the largest gathering of Studebaker enthusiasts and collectors in the world? Come to the 44th International Meet in Lancaster, PA during the week of September 14-20, 2008 with your parts, and you can have your wish.

This year is going to be a great Studebaker year. This is the first International gathering of Studebaker enthusiasts in 28 years in the original home state of the Studebaker family and it has the potential of being the largest all-Studebaker event ever held.

While vendor space is filling rapidly there is still time to get your space and join in the fun at Lancaster. Individual spaces are available for $40.00/space/indoors, $20/space/outdoors. Electric connections and tables are also available for an additional fee. It’s not too late to plan your Lancaster adventure and one call is all you need to make.

Here’s all you have to do:

Register for the meet at www.sdcmeet.com, then, complete the Vendor Contract form. Send the required funds payable to the 2008 International Meet Fund to our Meet Treasurer at the address shown on the form, and she will forward it to Swap Meet Chairman Frank McCarthy.

If you have any questions concerning vending spaces or completion of the form, you can reach Frank at 570-992-2912 or contact any other member of the Meet Committee for help.

Avantidon: You mention that "vendor space is filling radidly" for the Lancaster meet, I find it curious that under the Vendor catagory, 'Vendor List' that there are NO vendors listed, considering the site is updated every Friday. Why is that? Thanks.

Simply stated we have not provided the list to Cornerstone to post, since they do not go to him but go directly to the Swap Meet Chairman and not toh Cornerstone as do individual meet registrations.:)

When might the list be posted? I'd like to see who is coming so that I might plan accordingly. I'm sure others would like to see the list as well. Isn't that why the catagory is provided? Thanks.

Just a note, You must have a sales tax license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to be a vendor.
The license is free and you can apply on line. See
http://www.revenue.state.pa.us/
Thanks,
Chuck

Chuck you are correct and part of our process is to assist those who want to vend with that process. I do believe do have a few years of experience in helping people with this process as result of the York Swap Meet.

If you read the Meet Website or the Pre-Meet Booklet that we, Keystone Region, published, we mention a cutoff dste of 06/15/08 for Vendor Space. That date was not meant to say we would not accept vendor registrations after that date. What we meant to say was that if you registered after 06/15 you may not be recognized id in the Meet program. We are accepting Vendor Registrations and will be doing so for at least another 65 days or so. If you want to vend, please just complete a meet registration form along with the vending form and come and have fun.

Don: I think the vendor list should be updated. There should be a lot more to add since the last (first) post. Thanks.

I don't know I passe dthe message along to the appropriate people. Since I am not directly involved in the Vendor/Swap Meet aspect of this meet that's all I can do. I'll do it again and hope someone follows up on it.

We were on the phone last night finalizing our space requirements and the fellow we spoke with gave me that number when I was blunt enough to say "19 vendors, isn't that a bit low for a National?" I am hoping they will update the list this week.

Don't hold your breath. I 'thought' you had some inside info!!! Still, isn't 41 vendors for a national meet low?

If this would be helpful to all who are concerned about Swap Meet Vendors at the 44th International Meet in Lancaster, I will be updating the meet site, http://www.studemeet.com with a new list of vendors by mid-week this week. I expect you will see some new names on that list.

Today, 9/2/08, the attending Vendor List for the national meet was updated on the meet site. There had been 19 vendors on the first posting. Now there are 28 on the second posting. Bondo reported he was told there were 41 vendors as of 8/24 PM. Why the discrepancy?

Could be. But, since ALL vendors paid for their space, don't you think they ALL deserve to be advertised?

As of 9/3, the Vendor List is now updated to 40 vendors. Thanks, that helps a lot.

The list I got was based on a floor plan I asked for. At that time the count was 41, then a sheet cme thru with some names crossed off.

I think that is where the problem maybe.
