A year or two ago there was one like it but from Belgium. Service was spelled differently. Sold for $600

Just curious, how would anyone know for sure it isn't a copy. I would think a good sign shop could make them for maybe $200-$400, "age" them, and presto, a $7200 sign! [V]

Interesting, I bought a Route 66 sign from a guy on Ebay. He and I did some e-mailing back and forth. He can make and age porcelain signs that fool musuems and collectors. He still has a STUDEBAKER sign on E-bay right now that when you buy it he adds your name, or a name of a dealership.

If you look closely at the lettering, these early signs are diamond cut.

I have never seen a reproduction taken to an authentic level. It would cost a lot of money to reproduce and original sign properly.
