  • How close is too close?

Had the Avanti on the lift today.

Looking over the chassis I noticed something I had never seen in over 41 years of ownership............the drive-shaft is about 1/16th of an inch away from the frame in the area of the parking brake adjusting linkages........it does not rub, but man looking at that shaft so close to the frame scares the heck out of me. Does this clearance change when the car is sitting on it's own four wheels?

Yes, it does change it's position when it's on the ground. As long as it hasn't been rubbing, there's no reason to worry.

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.
