  • 63 convert Phase 5 & Brake tip

Just a reminder to check those Studebaker brakes. The convert had the brake system rebuilt a few years back, then driven less then 500 miles. 9 out of 10 Studebaker I buy need brake work, and this car was no exception. The master cylinder was gummed up, 3 wheel cylinder were working, but nasty inside, one was stuck and the front hoses were full of junk too. If you rebuild the brakes and don't drive the car, chances are you'll need to do it again.
Today, I replaced the 4 wheels cylinders, rebuilt the master and install new hoses. I also installed my 94 Mustang top motor, a direct replacement, and bought on ebay for $50.00 Jeff sand blasted the wheels for me while working on his R2 Lark. Todsy's parts $270, 11 hours labor. Total expense to date $1210, 56 hours labor.
