Golden hawk tach

My mechanic is trying to rebuild the tach of my 57 golden Hawk.
He has rebuilt the drive per the instructions available from the Club, but it still does not work
any ideas? Is there someone he could talk to/

Bad dash unit, or he's not getting power or ground to the harness. (Assuming his rebuild of the sender was good)
