  • Anyone got photos of the "One of one" '55???

All this talk about that cool '36 panel van got me to thinking~ anyone else remember this ride~ [?] [?] [?]

The One-and-Only '55 Studebaker panel van was at South Bend last Summer, and it was for sale.
It had a great story about it posted in the window. A question I had on my mind for most of the Meet was~ "Why didn't the National Museum pick this thing up for restoration?"

I'm looking for any/all pics that you may have taken of it. As you can see~ mine were taken too early in the morning, and the lighting wasn't the best. I also didn't seem to get a shot of the paperwork hanging in the window, a decent one of it's dash or s/n plate. Did anyone else [?] [?] [?]

There's a bit more to this story, but I am still somewhat sworn to silence in the matter~
As are a few others who shall remain nameless~ and silent. [:0] [)]

Don't worry~ the rest of it's story will soon follow.

That truck is safely in the hands of a new owner in Michigan. I talked with him about 6 or so weeks ago.[^]

Yeah that panel van, that has been out and about for a couple years now. I saw that for the last couple years at the May meet in SB and the zone meet in Lisle. I even got more than a fair share of pictures and a couple of movies. The movies are of particular importance because it is a turnkey vehicle despite the exterior. [)]

Well then- I guess this cat is way farther out of the bag then I thought. For the record there are three of us in this adventure together. You may (or may not) be happy to know that it is indeed on the road to being restored. We aren't exactly sure if it's a slow road or expressway as yet~ but it's not geting cut up- that we do know!!!

As we learn more we'll tell you all about it right here...

You remember back in elementary school hearing "I know something you don't know"? Once you said that you would be the center of attention and people would beg to know what it was that you knew. Probably the same reason people use all caps, large fonts, bold colors and add all sorts of pictures to their signature line.
