  • 62 champ 1/2 ton brakes

On my 62 champ pickup i want to install backing plates & complete
brake setup from a 63 or 64 champ pickup. Also the 62 champ drums
have a kind of bump allround them.does the 63-64 pickup have
the same bump on them. Will the 63-64 backing plates bolt up
    to the 62 champ axle.
Thank you for any help on this.

    Lenny,

It is a simple swap with backing plates and all from the 63/63 to your '62. Takes nothing more than the tools need to remove bolts and brake line.

My '62 has brakes on all four corners from a '64 and on another family Champ (1960) I installed front brakes from a '63. Should be a piece of cake.

    Good luck

Lenny - I installed Jim Turner's disc brakes on my '62, and in order to use a newer wheel, I got a pair of 11" (jeep?) drums without that hump at my local auto parts store. Seems to me there was a minor alteration on the drums, but I'm happy with the result.
        Good luck!
