  • 1933 President

Yesterday, I got into a conversation with a fellow who said that he worked in a garage and that inside of it was a 33 President. The car has beeen there for years and that it was there for repairs. He says it is solid and runs but needs wheel cylinders since the old ones leak. I'm thinking of going by there today and take a look and snap a few pics. Who knows, since it has been there for a long time maybe the owner is willing to sell it. If I get pics I'll post them.

Ok, got more information. It is not a 33 but a 36. Had an opportunity yesterday to get over there and take a peek. It is a very solid car. The owner is a very elderly man who wants it repaired so he can drive it one last time. The garage owner said he does not know if it is for sale but will ask. The car does run but does have the leaking cylinders. He also said that if it is for sale he would like the first shot at it. Myself, I don't haven't a clue as to what it would be worth, but like I said, it is very solid. The body tag on the firewall is 2CW-3 3846. That is the only tag I could find. Pics at Photobucket. If it is for sale and the garage owner passes on it and I pass on it, I will let everyone here know it is available.

                        Hi guys,
it would be very odd I think if a 33 Studebaker had leaking wheel cylinders as it has rod brakes.

As to what a 36 President is worth that needs restoration, who knows. My view is not much as they cost a fortune to restore no matter how solid the car is.
