DEEPNHOCK

Does anyone have any any/other/more pictures of the Stude DOHC Indy engine that was on display at Speedy's museum over at Speedway Automotive in Lincoln? I saw Jeff H's pic's (with the celebrity father & son in the background <g>).... But I want to see more, and more detailed pic's if anyone has some...
Shoot, just the link would be fine...
Thanks ahead of time.

Good to see you back on line, Jeff.

I, too, have a few pics of these engines, but I have yet to download them from the camera. I'm not at all well, turns out I have mononucleosis, and feel like crap.

When I get a bit better, I'll play with pictures, and e-mail you some.

Sorry to hear about you getting mono, Gordon. Did you pick it up in Omaha?

Get well!

Awesome pic's!
Thanks, that was exactly what I was looking for.
Could you please e-mail the hi-res pic's to me?
I am going to link your pic's to Sonny's racing Stude page (with credit to you, of course)...

Bummer Gord.....
Hope you get over that soon....
But look on the bright sode...
Now you only feel as good as you look ;)
As a side note....
Now that I have landed on my butt in SE Georgia....
I have no cable TV, the phone system is a co-op with DSL only a promise...(and the distance from the switching station is so far that the DSL speed is the same as dial up)...
So I went with satellite TV , and also satellite Internet (Hughes)..(you probably have that up at the wellsite)
Works real well (so far)... A bit of a hesitation on the initial double click, but it is almost as fast as cable/ISP on the download part.... Not quite as fast, but still pretty quick. Of course they offered me more speed for more money, but I am happy with this for now... The back of the house looke like a Wall Street Journal building what with the dishes sprouting out of it[:0]

Jeff,
In looking at the new Yahoo Photos site that contains these pictures, you can download the hi res (well, 1024 x 768...that's the size I took). Double click on the picture you want, select download, and check the 1024 x 768 box.

There were 2 DOHC Stude motors on display. One was assembled and the other was an exploded cut-away. Gord, Ted, Bob Palma, and other knowledgable Stude types were all over these motors on our tour. If you want some detailed explanation, one of them can help I'm sure. I just stood there with my mouth open snapping pictures [:p]. It is jewelry for sure!

No, Skip, I think I caught it around home here. Seems it has about a 4-week incubation period. I was feverish all the time I was in Sheridan and Omaha, and I think that was the onset of the bug. I didn't get the sore throat and swollen tonsils until I'd been home a couple of days.

I sure hope I didn't pass it on to anyone else, but it's my understanding that it's pretty hard to contract it simply from casual contact with an infected person.

Looks like Stude took more then just a few things from MSB. I wonder if any of this engine is borrowed from them? I'd like more on this design history..... Mercedes or Studebaker?

I don't think Mercedes had anything to do with it. Production Studebaker V8 block, Goossen heads...
