  • Frame and wheelbase on 58 Packard Wagons

Received a call tonight from a guy who is restoring a 58 Packard Wagon. His frame and floors are shot. He will be ordering the floors through Classic in WI. My question is on the frame. For the life of me, I can not locate my books so hopefully someone can give some input on frame size and wheelbase. I have three parts cars, 57 Packard Wagon, 58 Packard 2 door hardtop and a 57 Packard Sedan. Do any of these cars have the same frame dims and wheelbase as a 58 Packard Wagon? Your input is greatly appreciated !!

The '57 wagon and '58 hardtop have the same wheelbase as a '58 wagon, at 116 inches. The '57 Packard sedan is 120 inches.
I'd think that the '57 wagon's frame would be nearly identical to the '58~ but I could be wrong, though. Where is my &^$#@ parts book at [?] [?] [?]

The D & P bodied Studes for 58 use the same frame. The 58L-P is a different part number all to itself. Different from the 57L-P as well

        Miscreant adrift in
        the BerStuda Triangle

        1957 Transtar 1/2ton
        1960 Larkvertible V8
        1958 Provincial wagon
        1953 Commander coupe

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

One of the differences from 1957 to 1958 is the move from on-center differential location on the rear springs.

Most of the outriggers would be in different locations, one for sure would be the one under the "B" pillar, if you want to use it bad enough anything within reason can be made to work.
