  • 8E7 Serial Number Verification

I'm looking at a 1963 Champ - at least that's what it says on the door jam plate. SN is within the 1963 8E7 production run. It also says it's a 122, but in reality it's a 112 so it's immediately suspect. Is there another place, on the frame perhaps, where the SN can be verified ??

Not too long after I started the forum registry for Champ trucks, it was made clear that because the 8E's were both 1963 and 1964, it would be a good idea to list the VIN numbers to clear up any confusion. Not sure if the trucks were the same, but the cars had an imprint of the VIN on the bottom flange of the rear most cross member. Good luck.

If you have a 1963 Champ, half or three-quarter ton (or know of one) - lets see them. Put up all the information you have and include some photos if they are available. Please leave out any personal information - someone can pm you if they want to "talk." Click on the serial number to go to that particular vehicle's

Unfortunately NO, Post War Trucks do not have a "Secret Serial Number" on the Frame.

But, there should be evidence of the Frame shortening if there was a Fame swap, maybe some Bolts disturbed that should not be?

Actually it is probably MORE likely that there was a Cab swap, depends on which piece you consider to be THE TRUCK!

Either way, no one will ever be able to PROVE What is was.

Do you know the engine number? That would be another clue.
