To look correct in your '52, find a long-time auto paint shop and have them make you up some old Bell (Telephone) System olive green.
Don't go with the non-olive stuff often seen these days.

My main thought is to make the engine the right color. I have the orignal engine I know that one is the green. Im just wondering if the 185 were another color than the green.

All Sixes were the same as the V8's, SAME PAINT!

The '55's were Alberta Blue very Dark with a very slight touch of Green.

        The '56 & '57's were Turquoise GREEN.

        The '58's were Aluminum Silver.

Champion Engines Before & After these '55-'58's were Not 185's

Any Color IMHO would look much Better than your Car's original Olive Drab Green.

All FOUR of the above are at Studebaker Vendors: http://studebakervendors.com

        No guesswork needed!
