Here is a link to a post i read a few years ago and gave some very helpful information , getting these things rebuilt is not cheap , but this might be of some use and save you a bunch, hope it helps.

Bill Cannon wrote a very good article about how to rebuild the shocks. It was in the Antique Studebaker Club "Review", May/June 2001 issue. The only tricky part is replacing the seal on the shaft. I can email a copy to you, but it's too large to post here.Gary Ash
