  • apologies for my last post

I must apologize for my last post. To all of you who went to myspace to look at my Lark, I had no idea that they would ask you to get an account with them in order to see my photos. I am very sorry. To those who went and did not get to see the photos, I have put a slideshow up on the page right in the front, that you do not need an account to see. I have left the link at the bottom of this post again, should you choose to go back.
I must stress that I in no way was trying to promote anybody into signing up with myspace. The only reason I did it this way was it seemed easier to simply put up a link to a site that already had all of my photos uploaded.

Eventually I plan on putting my photos up here under the "Members Studebakers" Forum.
    Again, my apologies.

SHAME ON YOU. HOW DARE YOU?!? 30 lashes with some rotted Studebaker windlace on you!!

I also am involved with a Lincoln forum. When I first started there, I was asked to post some pictures of my 65 Convertible. So I went to one of the hosting sites (for the first time) and figured out how to upload some pictures. I then returned triumphantly to the Forum, and proudly posted the link...

What I didn't know was the difference between a shareable album, and owner's access. The link I posted was within my personal access, which meant anyone could make changes to the album.

Well- I was working and didn't get back online for about a day. When I logged back on all HECK had broken loose![:0] Some scumbag had gone to my album and uploaded some porn pics- some of the most disgusting crap, like nothing I've ever seen before[B)] The thread I had started was filled with personal attacks from the members, including a harsh, threatening note from the webmaster warning me to remove my filth or be banned! I had NO idea what they were talking about until I clicked on the link- that I'D put up- and saw what had happened...[}][V]

So, don't feel bad; could have been a LOT worse!

As for this forum- since I've been here, Mr. Shaw has not needed to threaten me about posting porn pictures (since I learned my lesson beforehand!)

It can get even more pervasive than that..
I have been keeping most of my pic's up on Webshots for years (top 100 albums out of 55,000 or so)...
I had to lock the comments section completely (so nobody can leave comments about pic's or albums) because the spammers learned how to access unlocked comment fields and dump huge volumes of spam ad's in there.
Took me about three hours to clean just one idjit's crud out of all the albums and pic's.

It wasn't nearly as embarrassing at it was disturbing! I couldn't believe how violated I felt[V]

Jeff, that's a good tip. Luckily I don't have an album that anyone would be interested enough to spam[)]
