          President elected by a landslide!

Many of you were probably occupied by following those other people who hog all the national election news and missed the results of the presidential race held this weekend. By a huge margin our own Dick Clemons, A.K.A. Studedick, was elected President. No really! I mean it!
Dick, who many of you know personally, was elected President of the Studebakers of Arkansas Chapter of SDC. You may want to congratulate him before the new wears off and the work starts!

That's Dick in the red hat.

Dick's soon to be parts car 66 at the meeting.

My brother's 57 pickup and others after the meeting.

Why would that '66 be turned into a parts car?

Rust. The pictures do not show the rust, especially in the top of the rear quarters. Also, congratulations to Dick!

Interesting to see I'm not the only one with a '57 Transtar that has '59 parking lamps... we're just "ahead" of our time! []

Joe built this truck from two parts trucks he bought to help with building the 59 Scotsman he later sold to Barlow Soper. It has a 63 289 with the stock truck 4-speed that we hope to convert to a T-5 5-speed. He also added a GM power steering box with an early type small tilt column and in dash air conditioning. It steers real nice.
I hope to catch a nice day and get some more detailed pictures to post.

Again, an interesting similarity, my truck was made from at least 2 others some 20+ years ago as it started life with a 245 'Big' 6 and a 4 spd. trans. - it now has an August'63 - 289 V8 with a 3 spd. O/D Trans. - and the transmission is a floor shift.
