None can handle the G forces. The owners manual says to use a sippy cup .

Personally, I'd think about replacing the console lid with a different one that I made from some wood, foam and matching upholstery. Possibly like this for starters.

In all my cars, I use the old school window 'clip on' cup holder. $1.99 at most auto parts stores. Very elegant. Besides, holding those drinks between my legs is very inconvenient in an Avanti. Too close to the steering wheel.

          Quick and dirty solution

Saw this in a video of "life hacks". Works as long as elegance is not a priority.

I had a 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo. The cup holder unfolded inside the console box- Flimsy.
Get a used slide-out cup holder from a 04-08 F150 pickup. Sturdy. I've been using mine for 13 yrs. Mount it under the Dash.
            Ebay has several.

I love the F150 idea. I'm gonna go fetch one of those and try it out.

How about these foldout cup holders? Have one on each side of the console and they work very nicely.

I would think, any attractive lady safely seat belted into the passenger seat could hold my cup and hers.

Those look like the ones Mercedes Benzs had back in the 80's. Ironic that they'd be installed in a Studebaker. I would think my knee would be likely to foul with the drink though. Also, if you have a Powershift, hot drinks only...even an ice cold Coke will be hot in 5 minutes. Stick shift might be good for 30 with the a/c blowing down on it.
