  • Avanti II seats

The new seats came back from upholstery!! There wasn't really anything wrong with the stock seats.

I just couldn't resist the 6 way power, adjustable bolsters, adjustable knee cushions, adjustable lumbar, long cruise comfort of these seats from an Eddie Bauer Explorer we had out back.

We wanted to keep the roll pleats and piping of the original interior, with a little update.

Jim, those seats look very nice.
Were they from a 2 door Explorer or 4 door? Do they tilt fully forward to allow easy entry to the Avanti rear seat?

Any idea of what they weigh individually?

    Very nice execution.

    Best regards,
    Gene

These were from a 4 door, but they do hinge forward and recline. I'm not sure, but I believe the 2 and 4 door Eddie Bauer's had the same front seats and consoles. I'm terrible at guessing weight, but I'll get a good guess this evening.

Looks nice Jim, and amazingly similar to the Camaro front seats I put
into my Avanti. I wish I had all those adjustments, but the Camaro
ones are pretty basic .. though comfortable and supportive. Avanti
seats are torture devices and must be removed.

I see you have your PBR calipers on.

Most people that dont know whats correct in an Avanti, mistaken these
for the factory seats. Not too bad at a glance.

Seats feel to be about 45 pounds, or about twice the weight of the stock seats.

Jim, those are some of the best seats Ford ever put in a vehicle. I should know; I put a pair in my brother's '97 Ranger SuperCab shortly after he started driving it. He's 6'4", so the additional cushioning, power adjustment and nice features (like the knee cushions) really added to his comfort when driving that little truck.

I'm considering getting another pair for my F-150, but I have other issues to contend with first.

Take it from me, folks: If you're looking for an interior upgrade, these seats are the way to go!!!

They should make the cruise to Maxton much more comfortable.
