  • Dismantling Rusty Ralph

Spent the day looking for usable parts. First picture, 9AM

    Second picture, 5PM

    Not much found so far.
But I was amazed that almost all the fasteners came out without much fuss. There was only three that I had to use a ziz wheel on.

The car pictured looks better than most that I have been involved in rebuilding or restoring (even decades ago).
That car should be sent/sold to the rust belt where it would be treasured.
I assume that you are planning on dismantling it ("dismandling"). Is that operation prior to a rebuild or are you really going to part it out?

There ya go Gary. Fixed it.

Any parts that I deem usable, I'll keep. I'll sell all the really rusty parts to you Northerners. <G>

I was involved in dragging that car out of where it had been sitting outside for 40 years soaking in the salty air of the North Carolina coast. It is hard to believe any fastener came out without trouble. Jerry, I hope you have your up to date tetanus shot while you are working on this one!

I'm surprised at heavy disassembly going on without any protection for that nice blue coupe. Nothing has dropped or bounced on it yet? How about protecting it with a nice heavy car cover?

The blue, LS powered '36 Cadillac three window coupe, was pulled into the shop after all the mayhem on the '53 HT ceased.

              Well... duh! Dummy me.
Thank goodness for that. I can relax now.

How about some pictures of that beauty?
