  • Henry Hawk got a girl friend. Ya'll meet Irene.

Irene, a 54 Commander, came to live with us back in February. She had received a beautiful restoration by her previous owner (Domenic) that was completed back in 2010. She spent her first few months with us in the Studebaker hospital while we corrected several minor problems. The only major problem was a steering box that was completely worn out. Irene is feeling much better now and has attended a couple local car shows as Henry's significant other. Here is a photo of the happy couple when they got home from Saturdays car show.

That is one beautiful car. Henry must be delighted. He's a looker himself.
Congratulations on your new acquisition. You bought well.

That's a beauty, and they sure did a nice job on the engine compartment. Nothing nicer than a mint engine compartment to go along with a beautifully restored body.

She's a very pretty girl, and Henry is lucky to have her for comanionship. One question. Are they married, or are they just "shacked up"?

They are just shacking up. But at their age, what can you say?

I wonder how Studebaker years correlate to human or dog years.
Best of luck to the happy pair. They look well together.

Hopefully, they can spend their honeymoon at Pauline the Packard's lovely estate in Warren, Ohio. That area is gorgeous!

1962 GT Hawk - "Daisy-Mae" - she came dressed to kill in etherial green with a charming turquoise inside. I'm hopelessly in love!

I think that Studebaker years are close to human years.

He advised earlier that they were both fixed. They'll have to adopt.

Yea adoption is the only option for this pair. Currently their are no plans for an adoption, but if the right Daytona came along.......

Henry's older brother (my Dad's 50 Starlight) is still in the hospital undergoing a restoration. Hopefully we will have the 50 ready to go in a couple years and it can move in with the happy couple. As with so many projects the work on the 50 has ballooned into a full body off restoration. Dad's original intent was to just do a cosmetic restoration with paint and interior. But after seeing peoples reaction to the restoration we did on Henry Hawk, he decided he wanted to do a full blown restoration on the 50 as well. Oh well, gives us something to do in the evenings and keeps us out of trouble.
