  • Looking for 64 Lark automatic floor shift

Anyone have a reasonably priced auto floor shift for a '64 Lark? I plan to put it in a '65 Commander. I would want the whole assembly preferably. Need not be perfect as some parts are available.

Do you want a power shift transmission to hook up behind a 283 or a 289?
Or do you just want the console shifter?
Please tell us what you are panning!

I have a 65 with a 283, all in tact with automatic column shift. I just want what I need to convert to a floor shift.

To do that, you would have to actually "Build" your own Throttle Pressure Linkage, Bellcrank, Levers, Rods etc. to control the pressure.

The Power Shift uses mechanical "Rods", and your 283 version Flight-O-Matic and CAR uses a Cable control system.
I know of no way to "merge" the two systems.

Perhaps an aftermarket cable shifter would be the way to go. Thanks for the heads up on the difference as I could have spent a "bunch-o-money" on something that wont fit. I am posting my efforts on the car on the "Racing" site of the car I dragged home Saturday.

It appears finding a floor mount cable shifter for a "PRNDL" is easy. The Stude is a "PNDLR" is not. Anybody know of such a beast?
