  • Interior: What is the orientation of the turn signal switch lever knob?

I know this is going to show my ignorance but I need to install a new knob on the turn signal switch lever. I looked at the illustration in the chassis parts book but could not tell if the flatter area was horizontal or vertical. The car is a ’55 President State Sedan.
    Thank you,
    Charlie D.

Parallel to the steering wheel, or 90º to the steering column.

I just wanted to know how the knob was oriented to the steering wheel and it looks like Dwain nailed that. Thank you guys for your responses.

No he didn't!!! Sorry, I told it just exactly backwards. Thought about it later and it didn't sound right. The sharper sides are parallel to the column. That way you are pushing on the wide flat part of the knob.

The flat sides are top and bottom. The skinny sides are fore and aft.
