On my return to school after lunch (grade 8) Margo (I forget her last name) informed me that Buddy Holly had died. I could not believe her. While others had Elvis as their favorite. mine was always Buddy Holly. I knew the words to 50 of his songs and could sing along with him until my voice broke.

I think I'll put on my latest CD which happens to be a compilation of most of his songs,

My favorites: Well All Right; Rave-On; Love's Made A Fool of You; You're So Square; . . . almost all of them

Yes, lots of talent from Lubbock, Texas.

Fifties Rock and Roll was "my" music. The Everly Brothers and Elvis Presley were my favorites, but Buddy Holley and Richie Valens were way up there too.
