  • 1951 Starlight Coupe Front seat question

I am doing the upholstery in the 51 Coupe. The car had a headliner fire at one time and the upholstery was down to the springs. When doing the backs of the front seats do you take the box with the springs out of the frame and cover that leaving the gray frame showing or do you wrap all around the frame leaving the box of springs in place?

Hopefully this will help. This is our '50 Starlight. I don't remember the details from 30 years ago, but we copied the original. Sorry for the rotation of the photo. I'm not sure how to deal with that. The source had the photos correct.

It also depends on the trim level of the interior. For instance the custom series stitching pattern is significantly different than the pattern for the regal.
