  • Phawk wheel

I am just beginning restoration of my '58 Phawk and need a wheel for the spare tire. Can anyone help me to find one. Also, is there a section to this forum that deals with parts wanted and parts for sale?

      Dan,
This forum is a page, and only a small part, in the web site of the Studebaker Drivers Club so, no; there is no page in this forum for buying and selling. There are however many, many resources you can access from the home page of the SDC web site.
I hope you have also joined the SDC, as it is the organization that pays for this forum.

Just under the SDC logo at the top of this page is the link to take you back to the home page.

Wasn't there an option for 15 inch wheels in '58?

Assuming this is not a trick question....Yes, the Scotsman models were 15” wheels.

The original question was about Packard Hawks. That is why I said 14 inch.

From the 1958 Salesman's Data Book: All Packards were 14 inch with no 15 inch option.
Champions, Scotsman and Silver Hawk 6 came with 15 inch standard and 14 inch optional.
All other Studebaker models came with 14 inch standard and 15 inch optional.

I have heard/read that the above was changed during the model year. I do not remember seeing documentation of this.

And with the 14" wheels, new wheel covers were needed for those Packards in 1958 as well...

Jack: My wheels are 14", Tires are P215/75R14 steel belted radials. I just need to locate one additional wheel for a spare. Does anyone know where I might purchase an extra wheel?

With a 58 PH there was an option of 15 inch wheels with 57 Packard hubcaps.

When 58 Packards had the optional 15" wheels, the wheelcovers were 56 Packard covers as used on the Patrician and the 400 models and possibly other models. The Clipper covers were not used on 58's as the were not considered Clippers. Most of the 58 Packard cars that ended up with 15" wheels were exported to other countries.

This sounds familiar to me. I remember this for the other '58 Packard models, but not for the Hawk. It must have been introduced after the 1958 model introduction. Do you, or anyone, have documentation of this "option"?
