  • C Cab mounting

I could use some help remounting the cab on my 1959 pickup... a few pictures of the bushing placement and how they are fitted between the cab and frame would be awesome.

Cannot provide pix, but the 57-61 truck parts book has an excellent illustration of every body-mount bolt, nut, washer, and bushing and where they go. The shortest bolt goes into one of the front mounts, has no bushing and is bolted down hard with just a rubber shim. The other three have different bushings and shims of different thicknesses. And to avoid the fuel tank, the LR one has no nut, but screws into a threaded hole in the cross member. The rubber bushings (springs on earlier trucks) go above the cab floor, with rubber shims between the cab floor and cross member or cab mount.

All four bolts go into a specific place. RF: 4.25" LF: 4" RR: 6.125" LR: 4"

The shop manuals (2E or 2E-8E) have a nicely detailed page on cab mounting procedure.
