I bought an R2 in the Fall in better condition for $1000 less than that.

It does have a rarely seen color combination. Must have been a looker!

Interior indicates it has indeed set outside a great deal of time in Texas...

Doesn't look "cheap" to me. Another $20K and you may have a $12K car.

The production order does not indicate that it was a "factory A/C" car.

What do you guys think a restored R1 is worth? Just curious.

When I said add $20K, I didn't mean to imply that would get y0u a restored car, just one that was a driver.

To answer your question directly, $30K (less than the cost to restore one).

It is a "transition 1964", one of about 50 or so, and worth saving for that reason. I particularly like the transition '64s. Let's hope the seller is sane enough to sell it for much less and there is a buyer out there who is insane enough to take on that rough a car.

Price seems a bit on the high side, but any non rusted Avanti should be worth 5000 if it is complete, and not wrecked. Running it should be worth the asking price. One I painted, but not a frame off, sold for 59K. R1 with air. Ebay is just one venue for sales. Higher end auctions, and private consignment houses are a better venue, even if you end up paying 20% commision if you get 50% more than an Ebay price.

                            I agree!
I never could figure out why or how people could let their cars get in such a condition, especially one that is rare and so special.

I have a very nice dash from a 76 with nice after marker gauges, car is getting cut up and frame is going for scrap, most every thing else is gone.
