Brooks Stevens the GT Hawk, and time to put your thinking caps on...........

We all know that Stevens designed the "62 GT Hawk....and many have said over the years that the roof looks like one on a "T" Bird........but Brooks also designed or freshened up another foreign car .........and that car has a roof that is almost identical to that of the GT.....albeit stretched for a four door..........name that car and win a New Years prize that you will find interesting:-)

I am not seeing it, this is a Similar but DIFFERENT Car, but it Does have a GT Roof!.
This one looks like the Premium, Luxury, top of the Line Model Aero.




This is cute little Car, they should have introduced it here!

There are some differences, in the hubcaps, tires and trim details, but it essentially looks like the same body style.

They didn't sell all that well when they were first introduced: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.c...illys-Aero-Ace But its hard to say how well it would have sold in 1963 when the domestic compact market was firmly established by then.

I don't think Kaiser Jeep Corp. wanted to be back in the passenger car market in the US after that unsuccessful move; not to mention, another Brooks Stevens design of their's was starting to sell in decent numbers right after its introduction in 1963, the Wagoneer.

Nice early-mid '60s in 3/4 rear view. But the clunky early '50s front certainly could have benefited from further refinement, ala Lark type.
Too bad Kaiser didn't import a few hundred as companions to the Wagoneer, looks like they could have been a cute and interesting compact alternative. Definitely not as weird as some of the Borgward and Roots Group products that landed here.
