    I bought my second Studebaker.
No. 1, my 1955 Commander, is nearly ready for the road.

It is still in the San Fransisco area, I hope it will arrive soon here in Germany.
In the best case, it will arrive end of february.
Fingers crossed that it is in that good shape that I expect.

Very nice car. I too own a '55 President and it is a wonderful road car. Your's looks to be in very good condition. You'll enjoy it, I'm sure. Congratulations!

That looks like a very nice 1955 President. Good luck with the shipping and the car.

I notice the Volvo PV544 in the garage. Is that the one that is on eBay currently?

The 55 looks like the one that was for sale east of Sacramento [Rancho Cordova ?] several years ago.
Her father had restored it and had died. It was stolen then recovered.
If so, it was a very clean, solid car. At that point it needed very little to be a very reliable cross country driver or show car.
I drove my 55, it's twin, from Lompoc to view the car. Shocked and bewildered the owner when she saw my car parked across the street from the house while theirs was in the driveway. The double take was classic.

              .
That could be. The seller owns the car since 2013.
              It is a California car.
It seems it has only a little bit surface rust. I am looking forward for the delivery of the car, than I can check it thoroughly.

That does look like Stan Hanenkratt's car.Stan was another caricature in the Studebaker club and an original member of our chapter. If I remember correctly he rebuilt the engine maybe the transmission, did interior work. The only thing I remember needing attention was the wiring. I'll let the rest of the Karen Staple Chapter know his car is going to a good home.

Yes, it is the car from former owner Stan Hanenkratt. The licence plates and the VIN are the same than in the Hemmings blog:

I guess I have bought a very solid car

I am not from California, but I believe that should be the Karel Staple Chapter.
