Started to tear down a 55 1/2 ton pickup, and I thought the engine must be off-center when looking at it. Checked it against frame & core support and engine is straight and centered (thankfully), but the inner fenders appear to be un-equal sizes - LH measured 7.5" on slanted part and RH measured 8". Was this to accommodate the battery box and blower motor on the LH side? I'm still waiting on manuals to get here so don't have any way to verify what it's supposed to be.
