Body / Glass: 1939 Commander trunk hinge/spacer

I’m having trouble adjusting my trunk lid on my 39 4dr Commander. We’re there supposed to be spacers or shims on the trunk hinge where it bolts up to the trunk lid or the body?

mine has no shims on the body or the lid. Is the lid sitting too high?

Yes, it’s sitting too high. On further inspection I realized that the hinges are shot. Studebakers West had an nos pair that I picked up.
