Aren't those statements pushing the Truth just a bit, for possibly early 1955, EVEN for an Advertising Co.?

"Studebaker is the LARGEST builder of Sports Cars in America!"

Hadn't Chevrolet been building Corvettes since 1953 or '54 and '55?

"Studebaker Packard Corp. is the WORLD'S 4th. LARGEST full-line producer of Cars and Trucks!"

Mercedes, VW, Volvo, Renault, Fiat, etc. built less Cars and Trucks, or no Trucks or Luxury Cars?

I really like the 4th image with the range of Hawks in the advert. I've got the 3rd in a picture frame hanging on the wall and exactly the same color combo too

As Studebaker advertised the new 1953 C and K designs they called them sports cars. As with the October issue of Turning Wheels Andrew Beckman in his column mentioned the 1953 C and K production was 79,000 cars. Corvette production did not top that figure until the 1960's.

As far as being the forth largest producer of "cars and trucks" in 1955 combined production of Studebaker and Packard 170,000 cars and trucks. I guess I am a bit forgiving in the hyperbole as I had seen a mid 40's ad for Pontiac advertising that their engines would last 100,000 miles.

Nit pickers, have at it. Large magazines did call in there reporting the 1953 Studebaker C and K cars "sports cars". How effective this advertising was you be the judge.

Well...I think if you park a 1955 Corvette, and a 1955 Thunderbird next to a 1955 Studebaker Coupe...the Studebaker IS LARGER!;)

Richard those signs are excellent and been contacting people to help you sell them at the MCACN Show coming soon . If you bring them I am sure we could find homes from them and would add to the excitement of our display .
