  • ECTA ia back for 2018

Looks like the East Coast Timing Association has new site and there will be racing for 2018. The new location is
Blytheville, Arkansas. All details are not nailed down yet, but the dates are set. See the link below. I am glad the ECTA finally found a site for their land speed operations. As many of you know I was a course worker for many years when they operated in Maxton, NC. My only regret about this new venue is that it is a long drive for me. I hope to make it least once next year.

That is a old B52 airforce base. About 60 miles north of Memphis Tn. There's nothing remote about it. Its right by I55.

The guy that left a comment on their website said it's remote.

Jack Heidel from Tennessee set several records when it was in Ohio with a '54 Coupe with a 289 in it. Then retired the '54 to everyday driver which it was when he raced it. Then he put a 259 in a '63 Avanti and set several more records. Now he will probably go to Arkansas with the Avanti and go after more records.
