Studebaker issued six different colorful showroom banners to dealers in the 1964 model year. As contrasted to previous years when they were silk the '64's were on a parchment type paper with wood slats at top and bottom. Each poster measures a large 50 X 28 1/2." Those shown are originals though I have made identical replicas for anyone interested. Complete sets of originals are very rare.

Funny how even management couldn't let go of the "Lark" name.....

I think it was the PR Dept. or the contracted Advertiser that screwed that "Commander" being a "Lark" all up.
ONLY the stripped down "Standard" called a "Challenger" in '64, really was a Lark, and identified as such.

It also happened in the Dealer showroom "Book", but not in Brochures and most other advertising.

 Oh, they tried, Jack.

The Dealer Council (not management) was so enamored with the Lark name (who wouldn't be after the relatively good business since 1959) that they insisted it be retained in some form or fashion when previewing the 1964 line.

So management tacked "Lark" monikers on literature and everything to assuage them...but the closest things to the Lark name on a car were the two little Lark emblems on Challenger "C" pillars. BP

See this string Bob:

http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/showthread.php?17977-Why-1964-Lark-Types-were-NOT-Larks

I WISH we had minutes from some of those Dealer Council Meetings to know which is correct, which group of them won?
Your take on this is in Direct conflict with, (opposite of) mine. :(

Since the Lark name all but completely went away in '64, and partially did in '63 (only on Cruisers), I think Frank Afton and his like thinking Dealers on the "Council" won this one. :!:

Too bad none of them are alive to tell the story. :(

Look Ma, no "LARK" nameplate! :D

Sorry about several of us messing up your "Sell the Banner Copies" String, Richard. :(

Sometimes we get into just answering a Post, without thinking about the context of the STRING! Sorry.

By the way, those are better than GREAT Banners, thanks for posting them! :!:

I started this New string to "take it away" from here and allow it to get back ON TOPIC:
