  • Body / Glass: 1960 Lark front fender

Because I doubt that there are any NOS fenders out there any more, has any one used the fiberglass front fenders from Studebaker International? If so how did they work for you?

  • #2
Good sheetmetal fenders do show up at swap meets and, since you are within 16 miles of the largest all Studebaker swap meet in the world why not put out the word that you need them and plan on picking them up first weekend in May? Many people have used the fiberglass fenders (which are only the outer fender) but they do require a bit of fuss and fitting. The used steel usually comes with the inner fender intact. Just my 2¢ worth.

Vendors like Barry Hackney in Texas may have what you want. I know he bought sheet metal out of Arizona.

You don't need NOS. OEM will suffice.

I believe the front fenders for 59' and 60 two door Larks are the same. I know the script holes are different but that is easily rectified with a welder and body work. This should help widen your search possibilities. In addition, someone with more knowledge on this forum may know if the front fender from a 59' 60' four door will fit on a two door. If so this would increase your search results even more.

I think the only difference would be in the sculpt in the bottom end behind the wheel arch. I think there was a change in the rocker panel that altered how it lined up with the fender; pretty minor but, others could shed better light.

I'm going to try getting in touch with Tom Karkiewicz. When we were younger my brother and I had our scotsman, and I remember going to his place .
