      Yes it looks like a relatively stock 1937 Stude. Coupe Express, not a modified "Ute".

            Utes are not modified, they are factory creations. Stock car front, truck in the back. El Camino, Ranchero, Brat, Rampage, VW PU, etc. Australians call them Utes and create a lot of them! I like the term Cruck. Most Americans call them all generically "El Caminos" like BandAids and Kleenex. Seems like the 30s/40s there was a blending of cars and trucks.

              It is, and for some reason, I'm thinking this is not the first time I've seen it, and not the first time It has been discussed on this forum. I have a hunch this is one of those vehicles that is much more fun to wish about than end up with.

                nice looking truck just noticed the two chrome strip moldings on rear fenders ....was that an original or custom add on ?

                  The lower fender trim is an add on, as is the hood side panel script.
                  Looks to be pretty complete and in decent shape.
                  Good starting point.
