  • 1955 color chips

Anyone know if there was a 55 color chart showing Coraltone published? I have been watching eBay for a while without seeing one.

Coraltone was a 1955 spring color. Spring color chips are typically found with the 1956 colors.
      American iron, real old school
With two tone paint, it sure is cool

Its got 8 cylinders and uses them all
With an overdrive that just won't stall

With a 4 barrel carb and dual exhausts
With 4.23 gears it can really get lost

Its got safety belts and I ain't scared
The brakes are good and the tires are fair.

Tried to sell her, but got no taker
I"ll just keep driving my Studebaker

ID:	1716419I sure hope they would not mix it to that Orangy sample!

Coraltone is Pink, not Orange. It takes an old Formula to convert or a scan of some good original paint under a Door Trim Panel or inside a Decklid to actually get a Match.

Look at that Pimlico gray, on a paper print Color chart copied to a Website it appears BLACK!
I would bet that if you had that Paper in your hand, those Colors would look EXACTLY like they look here.

PPG, RM, Nason & Dupont Color Charts are glossy real paint simulations.

Yup. I have it in my hand and the color chips were of no use getting the color for my Speedster.

Paint ref.com shows your Coraltone chip. As Rich says it is pink. The color is available from: Ditzler PPG. Their color code is 7034 or from Dupont where the code is
2193H 246-59427. Paint ref's supplier's color matches are derived from the original paint codes. This takes all the guess work out of trying to match your paint and offers choices on which supplier you'd prefer. It doesn't get much better than that.
