  • Want to buy - 52 grill, top bar

I am seriously considering (at last) getting my top grill bar re-chromed. Mine isn't broken, but the pitting is severe, plus someone once drilled a hole in it.
I thought I'd take one last stab at finding a better one before I drop a ton of money into this one.

If anyone has a lead on one of these please let me know.
Either a better core than mine, or ideally one once fixed but no longer shiny perfect. That would be the best match for my other grill pieces anyway.

I remember that when I saw your car in South Bend I wished I had one for you. I sold the last one I had, and it had a chip knocked out of the end. The buyer thought he could fix it when it was chromed.
In the picture I took the hole is hard to see.

I can sell you a good core or a re-plated piece, or can restore your piece. (not cheep)

I had mine done maybe 20 years ago, it was about 1K by the time I got all 4 parts repaired and plated!

Yep, and waaay more than 1K now. That's why it hasn't happened yet.
I'll have to give Barry a call.

What about having a powder coating company do their magic on it with the "chrome like" paint they have. Might be good enough to match some existing chrome that needs attention without looking out of place.

Mr. TX Rebel has me set up. The best part is he had a core to chrome for me so I didn't have to ship my own. Thanks Barry.

Very excited to see this on the car, but I do have few other adjustments and projects to do while it is in the garage for the winter.
                But here is a teaser.

If it is shiny (or needs to be), I can help. We do the best metal finishing & have the largest Studebaker inventory in Texas.
