  • Studebakers At Newberg Oregon Car Show

Three Studebakers were in attendance at the annual car show in Newberg, Oregon on Sunday. All the owners are SDC members including the newest member (he just sent in his application) who is the proud owner of a 1922 Studebaker he inherited from his grandfather last year. It is all original and is in amazing condition.

The '50 Champion had a busy Studebaker display weekend, since it was also at the Northwest Chapter display at River City Speedway in St. Helens, Oregon on Saturday!

Yes, and the car won an award at the Newberg event which the owner told me was his 5th award so far this year. Wow!

The owner is attending college at McPherson in Kansas and says he will be writing his next report on the history of Studebaker. He says there are 2 other Studebaker guys in his class. Pretty cool.
The next time I see him I will ask him if he could write up the history on his '22. It would be nice to take that along with some photos and submit it all to TW for publication. I do know his grandfather bought it new in 1922 and I believe had the same shop service it regularly until he died. The car starts right up and runs well. In fact, he snuck up on us at the car show. We just turned around and there he was. Very quiet.

Thanks Bill. You must be referring to the 12 hours of driving I did to get up to your place and back in early June. What a wonderful trip that was. And thanks for all your help on the car. I love your new Golden Hawk. You need to post some photos of it on here.
