  • Speedo Cable Grommet

Got a new grommet for the speedo cable. How do I get the cable through the grommet with out cutting out a large hole in the grommet? The end that goes to the speedometer is the smallest, but has the nut that fastens to the back of the speedometer. What have you people done. I guess I have been breathing too much paint fumes.

Have you thought about putting a radial cut across the radius from center to edge, like all of the electrical grommets are?

Then you could face the cut upward, and if it bothers you that it may leak inside the car (air or oil) maybe you could re-bond the ends together with RTV Black Silicone.[:0]
