I am trying to decide if I need a new clutch disc for Dad's 50 Champion. The clutch worked perfectly before we took the car apart. It was nice and smooth with no chatter or slip. I found in the manual that the facings are supposed to be 0.125" thick. I measured them and one side is 0.126" and the other is 0.115" plus or minus a couple thousandths.
Normally I would just buy a reman disk but I had such a bad experience with the new disk I put in my car, I don't want a repeat of that. I ended up with my original disk back in my car.
So the question is, is this enough wear to require replacement? If not, at what thickness does replacement become necessary?
Thanks
