  • Canadian 52 serial numbers

    I have a '52 commander built in Canada with s/n 8955064. How/where do I find info on Canadian s/n?

All that I can tell you is that your car is very close to the end of 1952 Commander production in Canada (last 350 cars).

A 1952 shop manual or parts catalogue will give you the starting numbers for all Studebaker factories. A 1953 manual or catalogue will give you the starting numbers for that year, typically rounded up to the next hundred after the end of the previous year. There is no coding in the number that tells you anything beyond whether the car is a Champion or Commander, and where it was built.
