  • where should the ID tag be on a 50 pickup

I just bought a 50 studebaker pickup project. I could swear when I first looked at it I saw the tag that said SR5 and vin and such. Now I have it home and cant find tag anywhere..where should it be?

Serial tag should be on the seat riser on the driver's side, facing sideways. Would say model 2R5-12 and under that a stamped serial number R5-xxxxxx. There's another cab body tag facing forward with paint and trim info, but that is NOT the serial number.

        Good point, Bob. Never assume . . . . . .

Edit: Canadian-built trucks would have a serial number HR5-xxxx
